Mutya Datul of the Philippines Makes History: Asia's First Miss Supranational Titleholder

Apologies for the late post. My nursing career keeps me busier and more preoccupied these days, good thing I got free time today, so I grab the opportunity to extend my warmest congratulations to our newest Miss Supranational 2013, none other than the very lovely and charming Mutya Datul from the Philippines. As predicted in my previous posts, greater blessings awaits for this 21 year-old Binibini from Isabela province who join countless beauty pageants as a means to provide financial assistance to her ailing mother. With her inimitable charm and immaculate stance, she was able to outshine 83 delegates from around the world and victoriously zoomed to the top, clinching the very first Miss Supranational crown for the Philippines and made waves in history as the first Asian beauty to win the title. She was also hailed as Miss Personality days before the coronation finale.

L-R:Leyla Kose of Turkey (Second Runner-Up) Mutya Datul of the Philippines (Miss Supranational 2013) and Jacqueline Morales of Mexico (First Runner-up)

Jacqueline Morales of Mexico was proclaimed first runner-up while Leyla Kose of Turkey earned the second runner-up title. Cok Istri Krisnanda of Indonesia won as third runner-up and Esonica Vera of US Virgin Islands occupied the fourth runner-up post.

The fifth edition of Miss Supranational pageant was held on September 6, 2013 at Sports Palace in Minsk, Belarus. Last year's winner Ekaterina Buraya from Belarus crowned Mutya as this year's successor. Our comely victor was able to surpass Elain Moll's third runner-up achievement last year and her victory strengthened the Philippines' famed reputation as a rising beauty powerhouse. Will this be the start of the country's string of victories in the international beauty pageant scene? I have a strong feeling, our very own Miss World bet Megan Lynne Young will follow suit. Watch out:)
