Pattaya City's Jomtien Beach

Breathtaking sunset at Jomtien Beach

Pattaya has plenty of beaches you can choose from, and if you're a fan of a more serene and not-so-crowded resort just within the city area, then Jomtien Beach is a good place to visit.

Jomtien Beach is a 6 kilometer-stretch of sandy shorelines which lies approximately 3 kilometers South of Pattaya.

A Russian hunk tourist is getting ready to smash the ball. Playing volleyball is one of the sporty activities you can indulge in with while in Jomtien Beach.

Unlike the busier and tourist-loaded beach road in the northside of Pattaya, Jomtien is way much more laidback and peaceful, far from the bustling noise of the city. I usually visit this place at least once a week to unwind and relax especially after a week of stressful clinical nursing duty. The gentle sound of the ocean waves that harmonizes with the chirping of the birds and the feel of cool sea breeze were just priceless moments of pure serenity. It's even more rejuvenating when you're meditating under the lofty shades of pine trees.

The red and white floating barriers provide safety for the swimmers and give a scenic view of the shorelines.

The quality of the beach though is far from the standards of the more popular and world-class beach destinations in Thailand. There's really nothing special with the place except its gorgeous sunsets as well as the scintillating presence of the eye-candy holidaymakers who are almost nude with their body-hugging swimwear. I'm a lover of beauty so gazing at them is already enough to brighten up my day. And if you're a Miss/Mister Congeniality, engaging with these universally-appealing beauties in a friendly and intellectually-stimulating conversation really feels like an 'award-winning' momentum. Not only you can widen your circle of friends, you can also broaden your knowledge and sharpen your communication skills.

A major percentage of the tourists are coming from the European continent, mostly Russians.
Visitors usually flocked in the beaches from 10AM-4PM.

The beach is jampacked with sunbeds and summer umbrellas which can be rented at a very reasonable price ranging from 30ThB-100ThB per bed with an unlimited free usage of wifi/internet connection and if you're planning to stay overnight, beach-side budget hotels to luxurious accommodations are just around the corner. And if you opt for an Adrenaline-pumping experience, then Jet-skiing, parasailing and even Scuba diving are best recommended.

Sunbeds and shades are available alongside of the beach ranging from 30ThB-100ThB with
free wifi. You can also order some drinks and snacks nearby. You can even hire a Thai masseur for a more relaxing experience in the beach.

Your blogger relaxing on a sunbed. It's one of my most favorite to-do-lists on my day off. Feeling the cool breeze of air while gazing at the panoramic view of the ocean really gives me a ravishing sense of serenity and relaxation.

How to get here?

Jomtien-bound Songthaews or shared taxi are available at the Second Road, near Walking Street at 10.00 ThB (one-way fare).
