the Binibining Pilipinas 2014 coronation finale
When Parul Shah was crowned Binibining Pilipinas-Tourism 2014 during the grand finale of this year's Binibining Pilipinas, I had fairly mixed emotions. First, I was happy because finally the Fili-Indian 5'8" stunner was able to win a title and a crown after a semi-final stint in her first attempt last year while at the same time I felt quite sad because it's still unclear till now whether she will have a pageant assignment abroad. It is a common knowledge (at least by pageant aficionados) that since 2009, the Chinese-owned beauty quest Miss Tourism Queen International (MTQI) held its coronation once in every two years and it has just been staged in 2013 where our country's rep Cindy Miranda scored a top ten placement. So the possibility of having this year's search may not push through.

On a positive note, the recent gathering of its previous winners including our very own MTQI titleholder Justine Gabionza in Guiyang, China with their pre-launch promotional tours in the host city might be an affirmative indication for a possible staging of the pageant this year. And should it'll push through, our beautiful Parul is just more than ready to rock the beauty derby by storm.

Parul is a 25 year-old licensed nurse from San Nicolas, Pampanga. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Nursing at Cordillera University and passed the Philippine Board Examination for Registered Nurses. She was born in Dubai to an Indian father and Filipino mother which simply explains her ravishing exotic look that compliments well with her valuptuous curves. Her kind of beauty will never go pale when she'll stand head and shoulders even with the most competitive girls and with the proper styling combined with the most exquisite wardrobe, she'll definitely get an A in the judges' score sheets.

What I am most concern about though is the unresolved territorial dispute between the Philippines and China which may utterly negate the chances of Parul in winning the country's second MTQI crown. Because even if how stunning and deserving the PH delegate can be, if politics will intervene with its ill-driven motives, the prospect of getting the upper hand in the competition might be a far-fetched possibility.

Behind every dark cloud, even the darkest one has a silver lining. I'm still trying to remain positive despite the odds and the given circumstances at hand because if destiny so decides that she will win the top plum then nothing can really stop her from soaring high and achieving the crown. Here's your blogger hoping and fervently wishing that may her beauty captivates the heart and her charm transcends beyond every political barrier and cultural differences.
