Venus, Raj (Miss Universe 2010 4th Runner-Up), Shamcey Supsup (Miss Universe 2011 3rd Runner-Up), Janine Tugonon (Miss Universe 2012 1st Runner-Up), Ariela Arida (Miss Universe 2013 3rd Runner-Up), Pia Wurtzbach (Miss Universe 2015) and Maxine Medina (Miss Universe 2016 Top 6) have one thing in common, they all belong under one premiere beauty camp in the country, the Aces and Queens.
The beauty camp headed by the queen maker Jonas Gaffud has clinched the Miss Universe Philippines crown since 2010 and all of their girls placed in the Top 5/6 in the Miss Universe finals. The MUP crown had only slipped from their grasps, when Mary Jean Lastimosa bagged the title in 2014 who by the way was a former Aces and Queens beauty who switched camp to Aces' archrival, the Kagandahang Flores.
Aces and Queens track record is impressive to say the least. The only beauty camp in the country so far who have completed the 'Big 3' crowns - Miss Universe (Pia Wurtzbach), Miss World (Megan Young) and Miss International (Kylie Verzosa) not to mention those other second tier pageants like Miss Globe won through Ann Colis. Miss Earth is the only major Big 4 crown Aces and Queens hasn't won yet.
This year, out of the 40 official candidates of Binibining Pilipinas, 18 of which are from the Aces and Queens team with their strongest entrants lead by Charmaine Elima, Katarina Rodriguez, Mariel de Leon, Jezha Huelar, Dindi Pajares, Chanel Thomas, Arienne Calingo, Dane Marasigan and Devora Tobes.
Will this year's edition of Binibining Pilipinas be another success story for the Aces and Queens girls? Will they be able to keep the most coveted Miss Universe Philippines crown in their ward and win in their respective beauty tilts abroad? Let's see.
