Good thing there is Binibining Pilipinas in the Philippines. The annual spectacle of beauty and pageantry that has withstood countless challenges and overcome obstacles for over 40 years is definitely a breath of fresh air in the midst of the country's ongoing political turmoil that seem to last endlessly. From a throng of 96 applicants, 40 beautiful women from around the archipelago have managed to clinch the rights to be a part of this year's official candidates who will vie for the seven crowns of Binibining Pilipinas 2017 and represent the Philippines in the different international beauty derbies overseas. The seven crowns that will be contested are as follows: Miss Universe Philippines, Binibining Pilipinas-International, Binibining Pilipinas-Supranational, Binibining Pilipinas-Intercontinental, Binibining Pilipinas-Globe, Binibining Pilipinas-Grand International and Binibining Pilipinas-United Continents.

If my sources are right, there will be four runners-up of the seven main titleholders this year. And the finale competition will kick off with the announcement of Top 20 who will battle it out for the Evening Gown Competition. The Top 20 will be carefully selected after a series of closed-door interviews prior to the coronation night with the organizers headed by Binibing Pilipinas Chairperson Madame Stella Araneta. The Top 11 candidates who will stand out will then be extracted from the Top 20 and will compete for the Swimsuit round. From Top 11, the candidates will be narrowed down to Top 7. The rest of the four candidates who were not called to be part of the Top 7 are declared as the runners-up. The Top 7 girls will undergo the Question-and-Answer segment, after which, five will be crowned as Binibining Pilipinas-Supranational, Intercontinental, Globe, Grand International and United Continents. The remaining two girls will now proceed to the final question-and-answer portion to determine who will be the rightful successors for the Binibining Pilipinas-International and Miss Universe Philippines titles.

If this process of judging will hold to be true, then the next torch bearers of the Philippine pageantry will need to go through the needle-hole to wear the prestigious sashes and crowns of Binibining Pilipinas and represent the country in the international beauty competitions abroad. As of this writing, among the 40 aspirants this year, I have specially noted these 20 girls who might walk away with the crowns at stake on the coronation finale. At this rate, Katarina Rodriguez, Mariel de Leon, Sirene Sutton, Rachel Peters, Charmaine Elima, Jehza Huelar, Chanel Olive Thomas, Arienne Calingo, Dindi Pajares, Jessica RamirezLiezel Ramos, Dane Marasigan and Angelique de Leon are by far, the Top caliber beauties who have the greatest potentials to be crowned the next Binibining Pilipinas 2017 winners. In my next post, I am going to write my rationale why these specific set of girls that I have mentioned have the biggest chances of bagging the coveted crowns of the country's most prestigious beauty pageant. So stay updated with my page. Good night!
