I was left in awe as I gaze at the still images of the exquisite candidates clad in their magnificent national costumes. Kudos to our brilliant Filipino designers who have dressed our girls to the nines while bringing the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines for the world to see. I wish I know the names of the designers for each gown so I can also honor their ingenuity here. A huge thanks as well to our masterful photographer Raymond Saldana for the gorgeous portraits and to the BPCI for such a world-class production. The organization had really levelled up several notches higher compared last years' and hopefully we can expect for more pleasant surprises on the grand coronation finale this April 30th.

So for my first review of this year's national costume portraits, I have picked up these seven aspirants who are just so immaculate in their photographs while garbed in each of their fabulous ensembles.

1. First on the list is Charmaine Elima. The head-dress and the overall design, reminds me of England's famous Queen Elizabeth. Royalty and power at its finest!

Jehza Huelar in her National Costume portrait. Binibining Pilipinas 2017.

2. Jehza Huelar. I just love the execution here and how she played with the camera. The hand-gestures and those Mona Lisa stare were simply mystifying.

Dane Marasigan in her National Costume portrait. Binibining Pilipinas 2017.

3. Dane Marasigan. In this specific portrait, Dane is reminiscent of the immaculate Mary of the Holy Scriptures. Delicate and enigmatic.

Arienne Calingo in her National Costume portrait. Binibining Pilipinas 2017

 4. Arienne Calingo. She nailed this shot with this picture-perfect, body hugging white terno. The floral details and the mermaid-cut design are so fabulous!

Chanel Thomas Olives in her National Costume portrait.

5. Chanel Thomas Olives. She's every inch a royalty in this Maranao-inspired princess gown by Edwin Uy. When it comes to national costumes, I only have good words to say for the top designer. After all, his tribal costume designs were awarded as the 'BEST' in the international pageant arena.

Katarina Rodriguez in her National Costume portrait.
Binibining Pilipinas 2017

6. Katarina Rodriguez. Our top Binibini contender is wearing an incredibly spectacular Filipiniana design fit for a queen. The gown looks even more expensive combined with her gorgeous face and beauty.

Ruffa Nava in her National Costume portrait.

7. Ruffa Nava. She is 'elegance personified' in this portrait. The combination of raven black and blood red design is remarkably striking as well. Ruffa looks like a veteran supermodel here.

Next will be the 'Immaculate Seven'. Find out who made it in my list.
