It's a Beautiful Black to Black in Miss USA 2017

And it's back to back as well for the District of Columbia!

Kara McCullough who is a Scientist representing the District of Columbia won the prestigious Miss USA 2017 crown during the grand coronation night staged at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. McCullough was crowned by last year's winner Miss USA 2016 Deshauna Barber who also represented the same American state. McCullough bested 50 other gorgeous women including Chavvi Verg of New Jersey who nabbed the First Runner-Up honors and Meridith Gould of Minnesota who clinched the Second Runner-Up spot. Whitney Wandland of Illinois and Megan Gordon of South Carolina completed the winning circle of Five. Rounding up the Top Ten Finalists were Missouri, Tennessee, California, New York and Alaska.

Kara McCulough graduated from South Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry major in Radiochemistry. She is currently working at the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission as one of its Scientists. Apart from her impressive academic credentials, McCullough has a personal community outreach program, the Science Exploration for Kids (SE4K) which features interactive science activities, math and science tutoring for children scholars grades 6-11. 

Twenty-five year-old McCullough will be representing the USA in the upcoming Miss Universe 2017. The 5'10'' black American beauty is hoping to win the 9th Miss Universe crown for her country.
