As predicted, the statuesque Thai-Swedish and multi-linguist model named Maria Ponnlertlarp Ehren also candidate number 5 won the prestigious Miss Universe Thailand 2017 title last night, July 29th staged at the Royal Paragon Hall in Bangkok, Thailand. She succeeded last year's winner and Miss Universe 2016 Top 6 finalist Chalita Suansane.

Trailing behind was candidate number 38 Suppaporn Ritthipreuk who was named First Runner-Up while Fahsai Paweensuda Drouin who graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Calgary in Canada settled for a Second Runner-Up honor. Beauty and brains Fahsai would've been a perfect delegate for the Miss Earth pageant which favors girls with towering intelligence and impressive resume. If the MUT organizers still holds Thailand's franchise for Miss Earth, then Fahsai will be the best choice for the Mother Earth-themed beauty for a cause pageant.

Other Thai beauties who completed the Top 5 were candidate number 21 Surapin Artkongharn (Third Runner-Up) and candidate number 34 Ratchanok Naowaset (Fourth Runner-Up).

Ehren is fluent in English, Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese. She will be representing Thailand in the annually-held Miss Universe beauty pageant which is rumored to take place in Las Vegas Nevada on November 26th (27th in the Philippines and Thailand). Ehren hopes to clinch Thailand's third Miss Universe crown which was last won by Porntip Nakhirunkanok in 1988.
