What makes Miss Earth stands out from a pool of beauty pageants sprouting like mushrooms these days is its unrelenting approach in spearheading its mission-vision, taking substantial actions in spreading environmental awareness and protection in a global scale. It is not only the main winner who is doing the job but also its runners-up as well, the three elemental queens (Air, Water and Fire) which are of great equal significance to the organization are shining like gems in their respective endeavors. And the reigning Miss Earth-Air 2016 Michelle Gomez from Colombia can testify to that.

Michelle Gomez finished second to Katherine Espin of Ecuador who bagged the coveted Miss Earth crown during the grand coronation night staged last year in October. She was named Miss Earth-Air 2016 at the end of the glittering finale.

After her coronation, she went to Ghana, Africa where she tirelessly coordinated with the Miss Earth Ghana Organization as well as with the Ghanian government for its Trash in Bin Campaign which turned out to be a success. Michelle then went to Reunion Island together with Katherine Espin not only to assist in crowning the new earth delegate but also to get actively involved in its environmental preservation programs.

Michelle made Manila her second home as she continues her duties. The Colombian beauty has been very visible the past few days as she participated in tree-planting activities and other events which aim to promote and protect Mother Nature. She has also visited the injured soldiers from the battle-stricken Marawi confined at the AFP Medical Center and her presence was truly a delight to the wounded soldiers.

The work of Miss Earth’s elemental queen just doesn’t stop from there. The month of August proves to be quite busy for Michelle as she is set to grace the Miss Earth United States 2017 pageant in the USA together with the reigning Miss Earth 2016 Katherine Espin and Miss Earth-Fire 2016 Corrin Stellakis. The trio of beauties will then proceed to Puerto Rico where they will attend the coronation of the next Puerto Rican earth warrior and to do some important environmental-related activities.
