Mariel de Leon Claps at Miss International 2017

Mariel de Leon who represented the Philippines in Miss International 2017 clapped in the background for her failure to make the cut in the final Top 15 of the Japan-based beauty pageant. 

Mariel who is the daughter of local actors Christopher de Leon and Sandy Andolong once lambasted a famous Duterte supporter and blogger Mocha Uson on social media for the latter's appointment in the government. You can read more here.

Miss International is one of the acclaimed prestigious beauty pageants along with Miss Universe and Miss Earth. This year's reigning titleholder and outgoing queen Kylie Verzosa from the Philippines will crown her successor a few minutes from now. The Philippines has 6 Miss International crowns to date. 

The delegates who made it in the Top 15 Semi-final round were as follows: Curacao, Venezuela, Slovakia, United Kingdom, Ghana, Honduras, Japan, Ecuador, Finland, Laos, Indonesia, Panama, Thailand, Australia and South Africa.
